Postby cheech » Tue May 25, 2010 9:38 pm

Is it just me or does 3 Mobile, 3G broadband really suck in melbounre?
They must over sell the service. Thursday night im changing to Telstra i think. Will cop the excessive data allowance charges for good service.

Traveled through a week ago, Telstra 3G worked a treat! Time for a change i think.

It's worth pointing out that the Three network under the Vodafone Hutchison Australia (VHA) company has a 50-50 stake in the Telstra 3G 2100MHz network within metro areas. The coverage is only 50% of the population.

Outside of this area, Three uses the Vodafone 2G/GPRS network which covers 94% of the population. Outside of THAT it can roam to Telstra NextG (assuming the handset supports it) which covers 99% of the population. But then you pay massive roaming charges.

If you're going with Telstra, make sure the phone supports WCDMA/HSPA 850MHz so you get the best coverage and data rates.
