What are the two methods for increasing bits per baud? I am having trouble finding an explanation of this that is easy to understand. It can be explained at an engineering level and proven with maths but not in laymans terms.

I will look into it, for now heres a book that might be of some help.

Check the bottom of page 31 for some info on increasing bits per baud. Not exactly laymans terms, but has a couple of examples.
Will talk to some of the lads and see if they can enlighten us a bit more.
