Source: News.com.auTHE new Apple iPhone has officially been launched in Australia with hundreds lining up early friday morning to get their hands on the device.
On the streets of Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane many joined the queue for the Optus midnight launch.
IT worker Mina Abdallah was the first person to receive his handset in Sydney.
“I gave away my old iPhone so that I can get the new one,” he said.
“I expect it to be faster. I expect the graphics card will be better to play the new games.”
Mr Abdallah, who had been in line since 6.30pm, was enjoying the attention he was receiving for being first in line.
“I am really happy. I’ve been hugged and have been interviewed from left and right. It’s pretty cool,” he said.
“It would have been much better if we were one of the first countries in the world to get the new iPhone.”
