Don't join the military?

Instead, look up the subjects for the Advanced Diploma of Electronics/Electrotechnology at any TAFE and the textbooks they need. It's been 9 years since I went to a proper TAFE but from memory, the first year of subjects was all fairly easy. Basic DC/AC theory, transistors, some basic digital electronics, CAD as well as the mandatory OHS stuff.

Otherwise, Electronics is one of the most common courses run part-time/night-time, so you might be able to enrol for one of these courses.

Failing that, there's a correspondence TAFE called OTEN that you may be able to utilise.

Hi,

Try http://www.alltronics.com/cgi-bin/category/29 for kits

Otherwise Jaycar have some kits and project ideas. And Jaycar get most of their stuff from Soanar, so cut out the middle man!

Hope this helps

So soanar supply kit to jaycar and they just distribute it? hmmm business opportunities are running through my mind.
Dick Smith was asked on TV "If you had to start a business all over again, what would you do?" he said "I would find a large retailer and setup right next to them and sell it cheaper"
