Foxtel Dish Installation

Postby Blacky » Mon May 31, 2010 10:33 pm

We seem to be getting a lot of visitors to cc comms by people searching the term "how to Install foxtel dish"
Well this is your place to ask questions. We just happen to have a bloke on stand-by that used to work for BSA (foxtel installation contractors) that can answer any of your questions.

If you need a start point these are the components you will need:

- A dish, 65cm KU Band

- An LNB (i used an Acer dual band LNB - suit IQ)

- wall plate with 2 x Ftype inserts.

That list will get you started.

INSTALLATION:

step 1. Mount dish making sure you have direct line of sight to satellite. The satellite is the OPTUS C1 located at 152 deg EAST. (http://www.lyngsat.com/packages/foxtel.html)
step 2. Run cabling from dish to box, If your going to drill into wall cavities you'd probably want to call an expert or at minimum turn off the power. CC Comms is not responsible for any damage you do to yourself or your property.
Step 3. terminate RG6 cable with F-type connectors.
Step 4. connect all hardware
Step 5. fine tune dish pointing whatever method you can.

I know the installation steps are pretty light on. Feel free to ask any questions and we can slowly build a solid information base for other users.
