Wireless Networking

Postby Matty B » Sun Apr 05, 2009 12:13 pm

Guys - we are currently rolling out our wireless mesh networks across various open cut operations throughout Australia. It is pretty good gear and the results have been speaking for themselves with very happy clients and partners. The gear was actually born out of a requirement by the US Military for inter vehicular Wi-Fi networks on the move, it is pretty cool gear and i have been putting it in mines for the last 2 years. Have a look and feel free to comment or ask questions.

Yep - we have some solar trailers set up in the Pilbara that are working a treat, hardest thing up there is cyclone proofing everything. The Breadcrumb LX units we use most in mining are POE and we have these really neat DC/DC converters for POE which take a 9-36V DC input and up/down it to 24V DC.

Most Heavy Vehicles have a 24V DC power source and most Light Vehicles as you know have 12 V DC so these little conveters are a favourite.
