Federal Government to Build Fibre-to-home Broadband Network

Postby Blacky » Tue Apr 07, 2009 6:45 pm

The federal Government has decided to go it alone, in an effort to provide fibre-to-home broadband services. This is Australia's largest infrastructure decision in years. It will cost approx $4.3 billion over 8 years and will support 25,000 jobs per year.
Will it happen? Who knows? Ruddys approval rating has shot through the roof. Here's hoping he can keep his promises.

With the increase of bandwidth to our homes comes another problem. Will this bring prices of ISP bandwidth down? If not then i can see i will run through my limit in 2 days as opposed to 15 days :(

I'll keep my fingers crossed!
