RJ11, RJ14, RJ25

These days houses are generally being cabled up with cat5e or cat6.
This image shows you the pinout for the above mentioned standards.

Also, when buying connectors for your phone system dont mix them up with the larger cat5 type connectors. Go for the ones that have a 4 contacts not 6.

hmm that picture is broken. (rj 11 can either be done with 1 pair or 2 pair.)
